The EKIT eliminates the need for a bougie, making the procedure safer and less traumatic for the patient. The 18 Fr. OG tube is combined with a 15 cm long ballon which transforms into a rigid bougie when inflated with saline. The ballon inflates to the designated size at the desired location, elminating the need to pass a bougie through the esophagous. The ballon is equipped with emitting fibers. When connected to the Infravision IR Illuminator these fibers emit infrared light which is detected by the High resolution STRYKER 3-chip camera.
